Orlando, FL – The recent article from the Washington Times highlights the distinct difference between Alan Grayson’s rhetoric since 2008 and startling claims launched by a former whistleblower client. Grayson has long claimed that he was a “defender of the taxpayer,” but in a complaint lodged with the IRS whistleblower program by Tom Ubl, a former client of Grayson, outlines how Grayson’s action were anything but in line with defending taxpayers.

His campaign centerpiece of fighting government waste in the form of an $8.9 million settlement was nullified and not enforced according to Ubl. Inflated rates charged by Grayson and his law partner Victor Kubli, a convicted felon, grossly violated the allowable rates set forth by the Department of Justice and were the major sticking point which led to the settlement being nullified.

“These accusations need to be answered.” Todd Long said. “Grayson likes to portray himself as a good steward of our tax dollars, but this case shows differently. During his tenure in Congress we saw him play fast and loose with our tax dollars giving us trillion dollars in deficits and no budgets. We need to know more from Alan Grayson on this matter.”

Ax the Tax Mailer Full of Grayson Lies

 

Orlando/Kissimmee—Today congressional candidate Todd Long released the following statement in response to a deceptive direct mail campaign from Ax the Tax.
“It is no surprise to me that Grayson would enlist and pay convicted felon Doug Guetzloe to continue to misrepresent my positions. He offers no solutions, spends no time with the people of District 9, and will not debate me because I have common sense solutions. His lies and character attacks are all he has, which is becoming more obvious to the voters he cares nothing about. In a mail piece which purports to be supporting me, Doug Guetzloe flat out lies to the people of District 9 about my positions on Social Security, Medicare, and benefits for our veterans. I am glad the public can see more evidence of the type of people with whom Grayson surrounds himself (Guetzloe, ACLU, ect.). He wrongly believes our seniors are so gullible they will fall for any outrageous, fabricated allegation he makes if he says it enough!
“Despite Grayson’s and Guetzloe’s repeated assertions, I have never suggested raising the retirement age for Social Security or Medicare on our seniors or those close to retirement age. I have only stated the obvious. Because Grayson and our out of control Congress have stolen hundreds of billions of Social Security funds over the last 15 years ($64 billion by Grayson and Pelosi in 2009 alone), the program is running deficits and eventually is not sustainable in its current form.
“All younger workers already know that the retirement age will have to be increased since Congress has spent the surpluses and we are all living much longer. Unless, of course, we start giving workers the option to put some of their money in private accounts insured by the government or take some other action to reform the system. This is just simple math. Doug Guetzloe is well known for sending despicable, false mail pieces out and trying to manipulate voters for a big payday! Grayson and Guetzloe are of the same mold, constant deception and abuse of the people for their own gain. Fortunately, this election is a great opportunity for the good people of this community to end both their political careers, which we will soon see on November 6th.”
